NATIONAL COUNCIL OF SBIOA EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

The Federation has grown as a strong and militant trade union of Officers’ organisations during the last 40 years. The Federation has brought about several improvements in the Service Conditions of the Officers’ community. As a pragmatic and a true organisation, AISBOF cannot function in isolation looking after the welfare of its members only. It has to respond to the expectations and aspirations of the society at large. As a responsible trade union, the Federation has been encouraging various welfare activities by the Circle Associations, which not only cater to the needs of the membership but also the society at large. The establishment of educational institutions is one of the welfare activities encouraged by the Federation in this direction.

The job of an Officer is transferable. Providing quality education to their wards is the prime concern of all the officers. They do not always get seats in the Central Schools as these schools afford priority only to children of Central Government Employees. The bank, of course, has arrangements with some Central Schools as also the schools run by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan at a few centres. But these facilities are woefully inadequate. Despite our repeated pleas, nothing much has been done by the Bank to improve the situation. Accordingly, the Federation has decided to bridge the gap to mitigate the hardship faced by our members.

National Council of SBOA Educational Institutions has been set up to guide the educational activities of the Circle Associations. Our Chennai Circle Association has already made spectacular progress in the field of education. They have established schools at Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore and Ernakulam. The Schools have a high reputation for the standard they have attained both in the State and Central syllabus. The results secured by them year after year have made their schools very popular among the parents seeking admission to their wards.

We have now schools at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Kerala, Delhi, Mumbai and North-Eastern Circles & Kottayam ( Unit SBI-ABOA ).Other Circles are taking steps to establish similar schools.
